Jonny Harford - Wycliffe College, Stonehouse

Former world number 59, Jonny is the current Director of Squash at Wycliffe College. He has helped develop many rising stars in the world renowned Wycliffe setup, including current England under 13s number one - Harry Bloomfield and his brother, Jack, the 2020 Senior county champion at the age of 17 as well as coaching Nathan Lake, PSA top 40 player.

Wycliffe boasts one of the most successful school programmes in the UK which Jonny oversees from beginners to elite juniors in world squash.

“I've had a fantastic career through squash, playing from a junior - I wanted to become a professional from a very early age. And I've taken that, hopefully, into my coaching where I'm now telling people - you can do this through this sport.”

Fiona Geaves - East Glos Club, Cheltenham

Former Senior National Champion, Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, Manchester 2002 and at one time world number five.

After four years as Director of Squash at New York’s prestigious ‘The Height Casino Club’, she served at national level as Performance Coach for England Squash. In this capacity, she attended the Commonwealth Games, Delhi 2010 and World Team Championships, New Zealand 2009.

Coaching world class players and then leading them into World Individual and Team events has always been her dream since retiring from the game. Fiona has been a club member for many years and is happy to coach all standards of players.

Michelle Williams, Wycliffe College, Stonehouse

Michelle is a Level 3 Squash Coach and is the Assistant Director of Squash at Wycliffe College. She helps to lead the junior coaching programme alongside Jonny Harford, supporting the growth of squash within the school and the surrounding community.

She is originally from Zimbabwe, where she has represented her country at junior and senior levels for both squash and hockey, having just played in the African Olympic Qualifier for hockey.

Sport plays a huge role in her life and she enjoys sharing her passion and enthusiasm for squash within the junior programmes to help grow the sport!

Gary Powell - Old Pats, Cheltenham


Gary is one of the most tenured coaches in Gloucestershire and is responsible for igniting the passion for squash in hundreds of players across the county.

This includes developing current professionals, Mark Broekman, Tom Ford and Nathan Lake from the junior ranks and helping nurture their love of the game of squash.

Gary coaches at Old Pats, where he has been located for over 15 years - with his assistant coach and former junior, Bradley Edwards.

Mark Toseland - East Glos Club, Cheltenham

Mark is the squash manager for East Glos Club as well as the head coach for the University of Bristol Squash Club. He is now also the County Programme Manager for Gloucestershire squash after his recent tenure as county chairman.

Mark has coached various sports since 2006 and now specialises in coaching and developing squash within Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.

He has recently achieved a 1st class honours in BSc Sports Development and Coaching at the University of Gloucestershire and continues to Study an MSc by Research in Sports Leadership, Education and Society at the same university part time.

Charlotte Elgood - East Glos Club, Cheltenham

Charlotte is a Level 2 squash and racketball (squash 57) coach and has been involved with Gloucestershire Squash for many years. She represented the county at both junior and senior level and over recent years has been involved in coaching county juniors and also organising tournaments and events which has been very rewarding.

Charlotte particularly enjoys working with the younger members of the squash community and also encouraging girls into sport. She is also a very enthusiastic racketball/squash 57 player/coach and became the over 40’s national champion in 2017. It is becoming more popular as it is fun, inclusive and great for cardiovascular fitness.

Charlotte provides both group and individual coaching sessions and particularly enjoys encouraging ladies into the sport. Sport has been so important in her life and she is grateful that she is now able to give something back to the squash and racketball community.
